Thunder in the Valley is set to begin in two days. Now a group, that had been one of the festival's largest vendor in the past, is breaking away. This year Richland Township Fire Department will hold its own event instead. Thousands ride in for Thunder in the Valley each year. It is an event that is known to bring big bucks to the Johnstown area and for the Richland Township Fire Department bringing in more money is what enticed them to take a step back from their relationship with the Convention Visitors Bureau for Thunder in the Valley.

A local hospital is moving forward with a merger with UPMC. Altoona Regional Health Systems is on schedule but says there is still work to be done before the merger is official. The goal is to close on July 1st....
A bridge project along Route 119 in Jefferson County will cause detours starting this morning. The road will be closed between Jenks Avenue and Route 310 until late September.
