Getting a gun permit in Blair County is going to take a little bit longer.  It is because of backlog in Harrisburg people who apply for permits have to pass what's called "The Pennsylvania Instant Check System".  Because so many people are applying it's taking longer to complete the background checks.  In Blair County people will be required to drop off their applications and wait for a call back from the Sheriff's Office once it's complete.  The Sheriff says the Department may go back to "Day-Off" processing when the number of applicants drops.
