Police searched for twenty six days, then Smith surrendered after being spotted at a local bar.  Charges in Cameron County were dropped and Smith is now facing Federal charges.  The trial in the case against an Emporium man accused of trying to kidnap a bank employee at gunpoint is delayed until May.  Police say Thomas Smith went after the bank because his house was being foreclosed.
