Lockheed Global Supply Closing

Seventy eight employees of Lockheed Martin are leaving the Greater Johnstown area.  The company announcing today it is closing its Global Supply Operation in Richland Township.  This has no effect on the hundreds of people who work in the main plant a company spokesperson says this is a cost cutting measure that will lead to a 1.6 million dollar yearly savings.  These employees perform administrative duties and do not work in the manufacturing of parts.  Employees are being offered jobs in Middle River, Maryland. This is a transition that is starting now and will last for the next couple of months.  Three Hundred and forty four workers employed at the Aero Nautics facility, which is also in Richland Township, are not affected by this move.
