1977 Flood Anniversary

On this day 36 years ago the Johnstown region was devastated by a massive flood.  It came as the third flood destroying the area in less than a century.  Homes, businesses and roads sustained major damage.  Heavy rains caused rivers to overflow and dams like the Laurel Run Dam to fail.  The tragedy left 85 people dead and affected more than seven thousand families over seven counties.  Leaving the economy ravaged.  Many left with nothing but hope to rebuild their town.
