State College Police Officer Assault
A Scranton man facing more than 10 years in a State Prison for assaulting a State College Police Officer faced a judge Thursday afternoon.  Nineteen year old Brandon Bednash faced a Centre County Judge.  Charged with three felony counts including aggravated assault and seven misdemeanor charges.  It happened around 10:15 Saturday night after the big Penn State Michigan game.  Court documents say an Officer directing traffic stopped Bednash for public urination.  Police say when she asked for ID he tried to run away.  Documents say the officer grabbed onto his backpack and during a struggle both of them fell to the ground.  Police say Bednash then got up and ran dragging the Officer into the middle of Atherton Street.  Police say civilians on the street witnessed the ordeal.  The Officer was able to hold onto the backpack.  Inside Police found alcohol and documents belonging to Bednash.  The Officer identified him through a photo line up.  Thursday he turned himself into authorities.
