A Johnstown man was arrested just hours after the Police say he broke into a local convenience store. The Police say Travis Hodgson was seen on surveillance video smashing through a side door at CoGo's on Bedford Street. The Police say they were able to identify him by the coat he was wearing. They were called just before 2am and the arrest was made two hours later near the Vine Street Towers. He has since been released on unsecured bail.... An Altoona man is behind bars accused of trying to attack another man with a kitchen knife. The Police say Robert Merlini got into a fight with a man at a home on East Fourth Avenue and grabbed a knife threatening to stab the man. The Police say when they got to the house Merlini smelled like alcohol and was swearing loudly. He is in the Blair County Jail unable to post bail.... The owner of the former City View Restaurant in Johnstown pleaded guilty to lesser charges in connection to a trespassing incident. Andy Lasky was arrested when he tried to take equipment out of the restaurant, which was located at the top of the Inclined Plane last June. He was force to shut down City View because of financial problems.... There is more on the norovirus outbreak at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. The school leaders said that one hundred and fifteen students have come down with the stomach bug since Thursday. The University sent letters to students on Tuesday afternoon asking them to help identify anyone else who may be sick. Those students are being told to either go home or stay in their rooms until their symptoms go away.... A national chain restaurant is giving back locally to help feed those in need. On Tuesday morning Johnstown's Red Lobster, owned by Darden Restaurants, presented a one thousand dollar check to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul. This is the third year that Darden has given a check to the nonprofit that will help provide food for both their kitchens in Johnstown and Altoona. The donation is through Darden Restaurant's Community Grants Program. Red Lobster also helps out St Vincent DePaul through their "Harvest Program." They give the nonprofit food weekly that is not used at their restaurant.
