We're learning more about the man who was killed in a landslide at an Elk County landfill last week. William Pierce was a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Civilian Defense Fire Company in Sandy Township, joining in 1994. Friends say he loved to hunt, fish, go camping. Most of all he loved being with family. "Billy worked at the Advanced Disposal Greentree Landfill for 18 years before he died last week. And one of the things he was most involved in was our country western music night which was a fund raising activity we used to do on weekends and he was very involved in that, but just the type of guy that always could lighten the mood and he always had like a fun comment and a sly remark and a real nice sense of humor. He's going to be missed." Following an autopsy the Elk County Coroner now believes Pierce died of a chest compression due to environmental entrapment meaning he didn't get enough oxygen while trapped.
