Hit and Run

A Michigan man hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Clearfield County a few weeks ago. State Police say they have no solid leads the victim's family is asking the person responsible to do the right thing. Andy's family tells me he wore many career hats throughout his lifetime but always returned to his passion of truck driving. He was parking his truck to go to sleep on the night of February 23rd when a driver struck him and fled the scene. Andrew's daughter says her dad was a truck driver for more than 30 years. "He really really liked it. He really liked driving and meeting people everywhere. He was a friendly happy guy." Three weeks ago he was putting emergency lights up to go to sleep on Interstate 80. Police say he was struck by a driver and taken by helicopter to Altoona. "We were traveling and getting good news that he was still surviving. By the time we got there his brain was swelling. He went into emergency surgery and never really came out of it." His family says he was humble but not shy. A man who lent an ear , but even happier to talk one off.
