The latest Rabies report card is not good. Rabies in a major problem in Pennsylvania, specifically Centre County. We are having more cases this year than any in the past. It is increasing. Centre County leads in the number of reported cases with 15. 10 Cases involved raccoons. Four others were rabid foxes. We are seeing more animals that are rabies suspects. Any animal that is having behavioral problems, especially if they are unvaccinated will always be suspect. The ones people need to worry about, a good samaritan finds an animal they think was hit by a car, the animal bites them, it is not a hit by car animal, that could be a rabies animal.
