The human remains found in a wooded area in Clearfield County have been positively identified as those of Chase Anderson, 19, of Curwensville. Forensic dentist Dr. Charles Beall who had been contacted by Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris, released the results of his findings Thursday. The remains were found late last week in a wooded area off Walker Road in Pike Township. No one has been charged, although police have said several people were taken into custody. Anderson had been missing since Aug. 11. Morris said the body was out in the woods for several weeks and was partially decomposed. He said forensic countermeasures were used to destroy evidence. Forensic X and an anthropology team from Mercyhurst University continue to examine the remains. "The forensic countermeasures were defeated by the forensic dentist positively identifying the body They're also comparing issues so that we will know exactly how the death occurred and then our team, the state police and the perpetrators will be the only ones who know exactly how it went."
