An armed robbery occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Puff Super Value store on Main Street in Bellwood. Officials said the incident happened at 6:51 p.m. and the suspect fled the scene. Police said after the robbery state police sent out a be on the lookout order for a certain vehicle. Altoona police then spotted that vehicle at the McDonald's at the Station Medical Center on 17th Street. Two people from Altoona are in custody for the robbery, Michael Rupert and Carli Aungst. A search of the vehicle revealed a BB gun and money, as well as clothing matching the description of what was worn during the Bellwood robbery. State police and Altoona Police said they are conducting a joint investigation into the previous six robberies. Officials said Aungst confessed to conspiracy charges related to the robberies. Rupert and Aungst have only been charged in Wednesday's robbery but are facing several misdemeanors. Police said they expect to file more charges. Those robberies took place over the course over the course of a few weeks. Rupert and August are in Blair County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
