The opening of the fitness center Caps the Exercise is Medicine campaign which Penn State ran this week as part of a national movement calling on universities and colleges to promote the health benefits of physical activity. Events going on around campus throughout the week included a kickball game in which students faced off against faculty a group hike up Mount Nittany and free outdoor yoga. Exercise is Medicine organizers said events like this help students stay healthy while on campus, something that is sometimes easier said than done. "It's definitely a challenge, both on campus and off campus there's so many different places to eat, there's so many places to get different coffees and smoothies and drinks, that making the right decisions all the time definitely takes some commitment. But what we try to teach everybody is that if you develop the habits, if you put in a few weeks here and start building up those habits and your routine, it becomes much easier to carry it on down the road."
