A restaurant is hosting a benefit dinner for a Jefferson County man who was seriously injured while working on power lines in Florida following Hurricane Irma. Trails End Restaurant, located on Forest Road in Cooksburg, is hosting a chicken and biscuit dinner and Chinese auction on Ocober 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. The cost of the meal is by donation and all proceeds will go to Tracy Slaugenhaupt and his family. On Sept. 20, Slaugenhaupt was severely injured when he came in contact with a live power line. He was helping to restore electricity for the victims of Hurricane Irma in Englewood, Florida. Slaugenhaupt has been with West Penn for more than 25 years and worked out of the Clarion office. According to his family, Slaugenhaupt is currently in the ICU at a Florida hospital and has undergone numerous surgeries. As of Friday, a GoFundMe page for Slaugenhaupt has raised more than $43,000.
