Huntingdon County law enforcement authorities said Monday they successfully neutralized two pipe bombs in the borough last week. They also made an arrest in the incident. Jedediah Rawlings is charged with weapons of mass destruction and risking a catastrophe. Officials said in a news release that a bomb squad Xray'd the devices in the basement of a residence at 1211 Mifflin Street in Huntingdon and determined they were explosive devices. The team then successfully neutralized the pipe bombs. Each device was packed with gun powder, nails, razor blades or screws. Police said a search warrant was obtained after they received information indicating the pipe bombs would be found in the chimney of the basement apartment. Once the items were located Huntingdon Borough police Chief Jeffery Buckley contacted the Penn State Bomb Squad to assess the situation and assist in the removal of the items.
