A short one sentence filing in Centre County court signals the end of former Penn State assistant coach Mike McQueary's lawsuit against the university. Last year McQueary was awarded more than $12 million after a civil suit trial, but since then Penn State has filed a series of appeals to overturn the verdict. There's no word from either side if a settlement in the case triggered the dropping of the lawsuit. McQueary filed his whistleblower and defamation suit after losing his football coaching job in 2011, when Joe Paterno was fired. McQueary become a central figure in the child sex abuse case against former Penn State assistant Jerry Sandusky. McQueary first filed suit against Penn State in October 2012, seeking more than $4 million dollars in damages.
