A new office in Huntingdon is helping people get medical marijuana. It has been a long time coming but the Pennsylvania State Access Office is open and can help patients register with the Department of Health and potentially receive medical marijuana. 43,000 People have already registered. This organization helped write and pass the medical marijuana Act 16 into law. "There are one of 17 medical conditions, and they want to make sure patients have the information they need to get into the program and register with the Department of Health. In order to participate you must be registered with the State Department of Health registry." That is where this company comes into play. They help patients register as a patient or caregiver. "Once the Department of Health gets your registration they give you a list of doctors they are recommending. There only probably 100 doctors on the list but it is growing every day. It is still fairly new." Those doctors certify patients that can then order medical marijuana cards. "Dispensaries are expected to be open as soon as the first materials are available. Many entities have already received licenses." Health Department leaders will be traveling to all 67 Counties to educate patients about medical marijuana registration.
