The case against a Pleasant Gap Man accused of fatally shooting his uncle October 27th is heading to trial. Ardell Gross had his preliminary hearing Wednesday. Details from the hearing that Gross was living in the Pleasant Gap home owned by his grandfather. A day after his grandfather passed away his uncle Richard Smalley came by the home to talk about selling the home. Police said Smalley intended to have a beer and chat with Gross about the future of the property, but instead Smalley was shot dead within a few minutes of his arrival. Police said Gross felt threatened by his uncle and got made when Smalley wouldn't leave. He then grabbed a loaded pistol and shot Smalley twice. A detective testified at the hearing that Gross showed no remorse after the deadly shooting and kept complaining about being hassled by Smalley. His next court date is scheduled for January 19th.
