Homicide by Vehicle Charges

State police Wednesday filed homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence charges against a 19 year old Huntingdon woman in connection with a fatal crash in August. Madison Thompson also was charged with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault aggravated assault by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, underage drinking and cruelty to animals. The crash claimed the life of Reuben Yoder of Allensville, and injured two others. Police said the crash involved two vehicles and a horse-drawn carriage and took place at 4:54 a.m. on Aug. 19 along William Penn Highway in Henderson Township. District Attorney David Smith said Thompson had a blood alcohol content of .182, nine times the legal limit for people under 21. Thompson was arraigned Wednesday morning and bail was set at $500,000. She is in the Huntingdon County Jail awaiting her preliminary hearing, which is set for December 6th.
