Four students and a bus driver were taken to the hospital after a school bus crash in Somerset County Tuesday morning. According to the Jerome Fire Chief Russell Miller, a bus that was carrying students slid off the road and into a pole in the 100 block of North Walnut Street around 9 a.m. Miller said the driver and two kids were taken to the hospital as a precaution and the other two children were taken in for minor injuries. Two of the students attend the Forest Hills School District. The other two students involved go to Genesis Christian School in Johnstown. The school told us both girls are already back in class. They said one student bumped her head and the other had a red mark on her face. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time but Conemaugh Township police are investigating. Chief Miller said residents in this area could also experience power outages throughout the day as Penelec works to fix the problem. Authorities with the Forest Hills School District said Tuesday afternoon the two students and bus driver are fine and are expected to be released from the hospital soon.
