The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is encouraging safe driving during Rural Roads Safety Week. Farmers across the State are returning to their fields to plant crops this spring. That means tractors, farm trucks, wagons, and other large equipment will once again be traveling along the roads. The Clearfield County Farm Bureau gathered in DuBois Tuesday to promote safe driving. Most farm equipment is designed to travel speeds of only 15 to 25 miles per hour. At 55mph, it only takes five seconds to close a gap of 100 yards. The Bureau is urging drivers to use caution and be patient when they are delayed. Orange rectangles on farm equipment is not just a reflector, it is a warning sign. When you see this slow moving vehicle emblem, you should immediately slow down.
