A Johnstown man celebrated a very special Anniversary on Friday. 50 Years behind the wheel of a bus, and still going. 75 Year old David Gaines has been working for Camtran ever since he was 25, his first day back in 1968. So much has changed in that time from the landscape and the neighborhoods to the buses themselves. Right now he is running bus 172, it runs on natural gas. Back then, it was a 1947 GMC. The fares then were only a quarter, now it will cost you a $1.65 to get where you are going. He likes the routine and he likes this route - run 102, the Richland Scalp Avenue Route. From all of us to you, Mr. David Gaines, thank you for the ride, it is good to know you. Mr. Gaines plans on retiring at the end of the year.
