Penn State officials unveiled the newly renovated Penn State Agricultural Building Friday. The building houses the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Penn State. The $44 million project brings new research and teaching laboratories, classrooms, teaching, learning spaces, offices, fermentation facility and a green roof. "The new building provides a great step forward creating a sustainable future through our teaching research and extension work," said Paul Heinermann professor and head of agricultural and biological engineering. "The payoff of all the work we invested in the building is clearly evident." The project was funded by two major donors. The renovated building still contains much of the character and footprint of the original building constructed in 1938.
