Another former Beta Theta Pi fraternity member is slated to enter a guilty plea in the death of pledge Timothy Piazza. According to court records, Aidan O'Brien is scheduled to enter a guilty plea in front of Judge Brian Marshall Dec. 6. He is the fifth former fraternity member to announce his intention to enter a guilty plea. O'Brien was charged with a second round of defendants in November after the discovery of the so called basement tape. He was initially charged with aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter and ' recklessly endangering another person. Those charges have been dropped and he is currently facing one count of hazing and three alcohol violations. Previously, Ryan Burke, Joseph Ems and Bo Han Song have pleaded guilty in the case. A fourth former member, Michael Schiavone is scheduled to enter a guilty plea Oct. 22. Burke is the only defendant to be sentenced in the case. In lieu of jail time, he was placed under house arrest and given probation. The remaining defendants have a trial scheduled to start next year. Piazza died in February 2017 after what prosecutors have called an alcohol fueled hazing event at the Beta Theta Pi house.
