Hundreds of Gun Rights advocates came together today in for a rally in Downtown Pittsburgh, many carrying rifles and pistols outside the City County building there. Members of the Open Carry rally oppose the proposal by the Mayor of Pittsburgh to ban semiautomatic guns and certain types of ammunition from being carried in the city. City Council introduced that legislation last month following the deadly Tree of Life Synagogue attack in October. However, activists say Pennsylvania State Law does not allow cities make their own gun rules, and that they must follow State Law. During the rally, up to 100 counter-protesters gathered across the street advocating for gun control.
