Penn State Altoona Chancellor Lori Bechtel-Wherry hosted her annual Challenge the Chancellor event Thursday. For the 14th year, she held ping pong matches against students at the Slep Student Center. Students each paid $2 to play the chancellor, who then matches the funds raised and donates an extra $100. All of the money raised goes to the annual Penn State IFC/Panhellenic dance marathon known as Thon. "We come out and have a great time, but the real winners are the kids who are raising money for Thon and eventually, the kids suffering from cancer and their families. It's a lot of fun, a nice fundraiser for a really great cause," said Bechtel-Wherry. Two such events featuring ping pong matches are held each year.
