State police arrested a State College man early Monday morning for drug possession and use, following a traffic stop along Benner Pike in Centre County, according to a criminal complaint. Police say that a routine traffic stop was conducted because the officer noticed that the man's vehicle registration was expired. When the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. After conducting a search of the car and of the man, identified as 39-year-old Kevin Sherlock, police found marijuana and heroin, both in the car and in Sherlock's possession. Police say that Sherlock did admit to using the drugs, and agreed to a blood test. Sherlock faces over 100 drug-related charges, including nearly 40 felonies, and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing at Centre County prison. Bail has been set at $50,000.
