Honoring Trooper Weaver

The Blair County community is honoring the life of a Pennsylvania State Police trooper who was killed in the line of duty in 2016. Trooper Landon Weaver, 23, of Martinsburg, was shot and killed Dec. 30 in Juniata Township while responding to a protection-from-abuse violation. The shooter was identified by state police as 32-year-old Jason Robison, who was shot and killed by state police during a manhunt. According to a press release, a brief ceremony will be held Tuesday afternoon to honor Weaver in the parking lot beside Mamie's Cafe along E. Allegheny Street in Martinsburg. The ceremony begins at 1 p.m. and will include the unveiling of two special signs on lamp posts at the entrance of the parking lot. The ceremony is open to the public.
