An organization identified as a Neo-Nazi group is advertising for a holiday party in Altoona with fliers posted on social media. Marshall Keely spoke to the reader and asked police if they considered this event to be a threat to public safety. Marshall the flier posted to Facebook details a party to be held here in Altoona this weekend. But some are concerned about the group hosting the event. According to the flier a group called keystone united plans to hold the party this Saturday from 5:00 to 10:00 pm in Altoona. The group is designated a hate group. An organization identified as a neo nazi group is advertising for a holiday party in Altoona with fliers posted on social media. And some people are concerned about the group holding the event. According to the flier keystone united plans to host the party this Saturday from 5 to 10 pm in Altoona the group was designated a hate group by the southern poverty law center according to S.P.L.C. Keystone formed in 2001 as keystone state skinheads before changing their name in 2009. I reached out to the group on facebook and through email for more details on the party including the exact location and if this will be a peaceful gathering. But I have not heard back. The president of the blair county naacp tells me he was not surprised when he heard about the party as white supremacist groups have been throwing parties for a long time. He says he feels there is still racial hatred in America. He says the current political climate has caused division and that includes race. He says his organization has encountered groups like this in the past. "We haven't gotten one lately, but we used to got threatening letters for this type of group. But,, you know,, god is on our side. We think it is the best for the country." Witherspoon says when it comes to racial prejudice his organization is always looking for ways to make it better for everyone. I spoke to the Altoona police department, they say they and the state police are aware of the party this weekend, and at this time does not believe there is a threat to the public.
