Tougher Federal Regulations have changed the way some coal companies have to operate to assure the environment is staying safe. A company in Clearfield County is responding with a new cleaning plant that will also bring some new jobs to the area. After years of planning RES Coals twenty million dollar coal cleaning plant is now open in Boggs Township. Right now there are just a handful of employees but within a few months it is expected to have twenty plant employees and about forty construction jobs. Officials say the cleaning plant will help reduce ash from fifteen percent down to eight percent. Then once the coal is clean it will be sold here locally and overseas.
