A former fire fighter charged with theft is accused of stealing twelve thousand dollars from the Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department.  Police say Jason Ober sold the fire department a truck for twelve thousand dollars back in 2007.  After he accepted a check, police say he wrote one for the same amount but from a different department account.  Police say that he made the check out to his wife.  Forensic auditors found the discrepancy and brought it to the attention of police.  Police say Ober was able to do this because he had access to both Richland Fire Department accounts.  Officers say they will not know the total amount of money that may have been stolen until they finish the investigation.
