Two teams from Blair County met on the diamond at PNG Field for the Curve Classic Championship. The Stadium is normally home to the Altoona Curve, but on Saturday it featured Tyrone and Bishop Guilfyole.
In the bottom of the First, Blaine Hoover pops one up to the right side and error allows him to stay safe at first. Up next for the Golden Eagles, Rodney Shultz picks up a single and two RBI’s. Tyrone takes an early 2 run lead. With two outs on the board, the lefty Brendan Grazier doubles all the way to the wall. With Grazeir on second, Hoover’s back. He bunts. What a play from BG Catcher Devin Wydant.
In the bottom of the Second, Tyrone leads 3 nothing. Brandon Lucas doubles and sends the ball flying deep down the left side for two more runs making it 5-0 Tyrone. Shultz back up to bat. He doubles and brings Lucan on home.
Tyrone goes on to Win this 10 runs to nothing, taking home the 2021 Curve Classic Championship.
