With the thousands of miles of wild trout streams across the state officials say they helped stock over 3 million adult trout in waterways.
To participate in trout season, anyone 16 or older must carry their fishing license and trout permit at all times.
Officials say during the Spring season you can only keep up to 5 trout per day with a minimum size of 7 inches.
The PFCB stocked more than 700 streams and 120 lakes some with trophy sized trout. They stocked approximately 60,000 brood fish, which are hatchery raised rainbow trout, brown trout, and brook trout measuring 14 to 20 inches.
Most of these fish were stocked before the season, but 30% will be restocked for in season replenishment. And 20% of the golden rainbow trout will be stocked in season as well.
The fish and boat commission want to emphasize that all participants should keep a safe social distance from others.
The season kicks off tomorrow at 8 am.
