In Centre County the 147th Grange Encampment and Fair continues through Saturday in Centre Hall.
This is the only tenting fair left in the country.
Today was the annual parade through the fairgrounds led by the Centre Hall American Legion.
First responders from throughout the county along with marching bands and cheerleading teams from state college Bald Eagle Area, Penns Valley, Bellefonte, and Juniata Valley participated.
As well as this year’s Grange Fair Queen the Little King and Queen the Dairy Princess Miss Agriculture USA.
And various performing arts agricultural and 4H clubs.
“This fair is important to me because it has lots of family. Someone who may not come may not see. Inside those tents, we see the memories. Somebody else may be like why is there a refrigerator in that tent. Right? So, for a lot of families it could be something emotional to talk about. For me, my uncle who recently passed away, we had lots of memories here.”
Tonight’s events at the fair include Remington Ryde Bluegrass music, tractor pulls, agricultural jeopardy ,traffic safety programs gardening crafts for kids and classic rock tribute bands.
Of course there are plenty of rides and food along with numerous farm animals on display.
