Police have charged a Saint Marys man after his 9-month-old child overdosed on heroin, according to a criminal complaint.
Authorities say 37-year-old Keven Klock faces charges of aggravated assault and child endangerment, according to court documents.
Police say on August 6th, officers with the Saint Marys police department were dispatched to a residence along Cherry Hill Road for a report of a nine-month-old baby who had overdosed on heroin.
Police say Klock was identified as the father of the child and told police when he was taking the baby out of the car, he noticed that the child became unresponsive and was choking.
Klock told investigators that he looked inside the baby’s mouth and found a piece of a heroin bag stuck to the roof of the child’s mouth.
Police say Klock gave the child two doses of Narcan prior to EMS arriving on scene and transporting the baby to Penn Highlands Elk.
Police searched Klock’s vehicle and found multiple, empty stamp bags that would contain heroin or fentanyl.
Klock was taken into custody and is being housed at the Elk County Prison, on $250,000 bail, court dockets show.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 24th.
