One man is walking over 500 miles through 6 states over 6 weeks in remembrance of first responders who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.
Frank Siller started the Tunnels For Towers Foundation in memory of his brother who died on 9/11 as a New York City firefighter.
The foundation has a signature event called the Never Forget Walk
Which is taking Frank 537 miles from the Pentagon in Washington DC to the World Trade Center in New York City.
And today he stopped at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville along his way for a breakfast, ceremony, and more walking.
Residents joined him for a 2.7 mile walk from the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Company to the Flight 93 Memorial site.
“For some reason or another, I really don’t feel the physical side of it. The emotional side I do. Every day I’m thinking of my brother. I’m thinking of all the firefighters who died in 9/11, the first responders, police officers. I think about the 40 great souls that went down here 20 years ago.”
Tunnels For Towers has supported our nation’s first responders by providing the families they leave behind with mortgage free homes.
