Last year, COVID-19 took away a Summer Classic – the All-American Amateur Baseball Association Tournament, but COVID couldn’t keep the August tradition away forever. Now, the AAABA is returning to it’s home of Sargent Stadium at the Point for the 76th Annual AAABA Tournament starting on Monday.
The Teams have arrived in Johnstown. The New Orleans Boosters made history as the first team to fly into the Johnstown Airport for the Tournament and after two years of waiting, the team will defend their AAABA crown this week.
The Pools have been released and here they are:
- Martellas Pharmacy
- Brooklyn Sayo-Greys
- New Orleans
- Altoona’s Johnston Realty
- Brooklyn Cougars
- North Carolina
- Maryland State
- Paul Carptner’s Capital Advisors
- Altoona’s Cumming Motors
- New Brunswick
On Monday, get back out to the Ballpark whether it’s a the Point, Roxburry, Westmont, and more. We have Baseball going on all around the area. Four Local Teams — Two from Altoona, Two from Johnstown. We hope you enjoy this Summertime Classic. Some of the best Players have played in this Tournament like Orel Hershiser, Ken Griffey Jr, and Curve’s own Trey McGough. Who will be next? The first game at the Point will be played between Martella’s and New Orleans Monday at Noon.
