It’s time for another Feel Good Friday. So let’s get to it!
We’re starting out with a death defying save on New York’s subway tracks. An NYPD officer jumped down to rescue a man who fell off the platform with a train about to arrive.
Check this out cell phone video captured the tense moments.
A 60-year-old man face down on the subway tracks and the light of an oncoming train getting brighter at the end of the tunnel. NYPD officer Ludin Lopez who you see drop down on the platform his training kicking in as he lowered himself onto the tracks carefully stepping around the electric third rail to help the unconscious rider.
Seconds later you see a good samaritan follow suit.
“He was not responding, so I did everything I could to help him up and thankfully this gentleman, I don’t know who he is, but if he were here, I would shake his hand. He helped me get the gentleman back onto the platform.”
Two other cops then helped pull the trio up as witnesses cheered. The train rolling in with literally seconds to spare.
Officer Lopez says he’s and grateful the man will be okay.
Our next story also involves a good samaratian stepping up and braving a tense situation to help another. While feeding an 8-1/2foot alligator at a reptile and bird center for a private birthday
party Lindsay Bull who works as a handler was attacked by the gator.
Bull says the alligator failed to respond to commands and when she attempted to push the gator back it bit down on her hand and wouldn’t let go. She suffered severe cuts and broken bones.
But says it would have been worse if not for 2 guests who jumped into action.
“A normal training routine, something that I’ve done a bunch of different times and he grabbed it and at that point,I kind of knew that it was serious.”
Once Bull was pulled to safety by one of the guests she was able to coach the other on how to safely exit the water.
The Big Apple is hoping music will help entice people to get a coronavirus shot. New York’s Homecoming Week Concerts resume this week at Orchard Beach. These free shows have a single requirement everyone who attends has to be vaccinated. Talk about an incentive to see a show.

Disney has unveiled new costumes and role play wheelchair cover sets for kids and adults. The company says these adaptive features allow Disney fans to transform into their favorite characters.
These costumes have stretch fabric that opens in the back and is wheelchair friendly.
The 2021 costume assortment includes characters from Raya and the Last Dragon, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus.
And for our last story we are going overseas.
An Italian non profit group founded to promote Table Soccer gave the Pope his very own game. And you can see the joy on Pope Francis face as he enjoys the new gift.
The group says it wanted to give the Pope an inclusive gift that disable people can also enjoy.
Hailing from Argentina, Pope Francis is a well known soccer fan.
