Arrest Made in Jean Tuggy Murder Case

An arrest was made in a five-year murder case out of Centre County.

On Monday, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office announced 35 year old Christopher Kowalski was arrested for the murder of 60 year old Jean Tuggy.

Police said Tuggy was shot to death in her Pine Grove Mills home in January 2016. Initially, police had no suspects.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Kowalski, who lives in South Carolina, confessed to killing Tuggy. Police linked him to the crime through what they said was the murder weapon, a 9mm pistol.

According to investigators, Kowalski became romantically interested in Tuggy when they worked together at Wegmans.

Kowalski will be extradited back to Centre County.
