It’s Ash Wednesday for those who observe it which is the start of the Lenten season.
That means churches across the area are preparing for their annual fish fries.
Saint Francis of Assisi Parish is hosting their first fish fry of the Lenten season Today for Ash Wednesday and they say that they have been very busy so far
The church started taking orders for fish dinners on Tuesday and their phones have been busy ever since. This year their fish fries will be take out only, but volunteers for the event say the community is still excited to stop by to get some dinner.
“I took calls this morning and I thought it was encouraging. I had several people tell me we’re glad you’re back and by the way can you give me two extra sides of this, and three extra sides of that and boy, thanks for being here.”
