Baseball Tournament Coming to Dubois

Even as the pandemic continues, baseball players from across the nation will take the mound in a tournament in Dubois.

On Sunday, Dubois will host a tournament for amateur baseball players from various states. Officials say this is the first baseball tournament they’re hosting this year and it’ll be good for Dubois

The Prep bBaseball Report is a national independent scouting service for amateur baseball players.

They chose Dubois to host their Northeast region of the 2020 PBR future games at Showers Field and Stern Family Field.

According to PBR’s website, the future games is the most highly scouted event by college coaches

With the Coronavirus, Dubois City Manager Herm Suplizio says this is the first baseball tournament they’re hosting this year.

He says baseball teams will come from eight states including Connecticut and New York.

Each team will play two games on Sunday and one game on Monday.

This tournament is free of admission and Suplizio says it’ll help boost the economy.

“We’re very excited this tournament is normally held in GA being with COVID-19, they decided to split it up and have it in three different places.”

Officials say they’ll have hand sanitizing stations and social distancing will be practiced at the tournament.
