Benninghoff Disputes New Maps

State House Majority Leader, Representative Kerry Benninghoff of Centre County, is now asking the State Supreme Court to reject the newly drawn maps for the Senate and House Districts.

Benninghoff was one of five members on the Commission that came up with the new legislative maps. He was the only one to vote against the final versions. In his new lawsuit to the Supreme Court, Benninghoff argues that the map plan favors democrats and emphasizes partisan political gain.

PA State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff saying: “This map’s competitiveness is so bad that it will only lead to increased polarization, less bipartisanship and more gridlock. something our Commonwealth does not need, nor does our Country.”

The State Supreme Court began hearing arguments in another Suit on Friday that also challenges the newly proposed Congressional Districts for Pennsylvania.
