Authorities say a Blair County sex offender is behind bars after investigators allegedly found multiple child pornography files on his computer.
Officials say on September 10th, agents from the state attorney general’s office and state police executed a search warrant on the home of 50-year-old Ronald Gummo Jr. in Tyrone.
According to the affidavit, investigators noted that Gummo is listed as an “inactive” Megan’s Law offender who had reportedly not registered since December of 2021.
During the search of his home, police reportedly seized multiple devices, including 14 files that allegedly depicted child sexual abuse that were located on a desktop computer.
According to online court records, Gummo is charged with several felonies for child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.
He is being housed in the Blair County Prison on $100,000 bail.
Authorities also noted that another resident of the home, a relative of Gummo, also had a past criminal history of charges related to indecent assault and corruption of minors.
