Norfolk Southern official told us a piece of debris ruptured the fuel tank of a passing locomotive, resulting in 450 gallons of fuel spilling onto the track last night, around ten.
This happened near the 24th Street bridge on the west side of Altoona.
Cleanup reportedly began immediately.
Officials say that the fuel was contained to Norfolk Southern property only
