Blazier Trial Jury Selection

Monday marked Jury Selection for the Trial of former Bellwood-Antis Wrestling Coach Ryan Blazier, who is accused of sexually assaulting some of his Wrestlers. Prospective Jurors were thoroughly vetted Monday morning. Blazier has been charged with a host of crimes against two of his former Wrestlers, including involuntary deviate sexual assault, institutional sexual assault and aggravated assault, and institutional sexual assault.

The Defendant will also answer to Witness Intimidation charges, as he allegedly threatened to hurt any confidants of the alleged Victims. Judge Daniel Milliron oversaw the Jury Selection, where after extensive questioning, 3 Jurors were excused. First Assistant District Attorney Nichole Smith and Defense Attorney Thomas Dickey defined the great responsibility each Member of the Jury will have in this case, before the two sides arrived at final list of Jurors and 6 Alternates.

Proceedings are set to begin on August 30th.
