A local Drug Addiction Support Group called “Messengers Supporting Recovery” will host a Book Sale and Signing Sunday in Elk County. The event will take place from 3 to 7 in the evening at the Maker’s Warehouse in Saint Marys.
The group is made up of friends and family members of people who have died as a result of Drug Addiction. Their book — titled “Ripples: Effects of Addiction” — contains stories of people who have passed away from drug overdoses.
Patty Greene, Author and Support Group Leader adding: “We want to reduce that stigma. We want to bring more awareness, more education, open those doors that are closed. I’ll tell you what, this book has done that. I mean everywhere I go, people are talking about it.”
The book is on sale on Amazon — and at a number of local businesses — throughout Elk and Cameron Counties. Over 1,300 copies of the book have already been sold. All of the money raised from book sales goes back into the Saint Marys Community.
