A jury on Wednesday convicted a registered sex offender from Johnstown in a child rape case in Blair County, according to Blair County District Attorney Peter Weeks.
Officials say 49-year-old Brian Cinko was found guilty on all charges including rape of a child and aggravated indecent assault of a child.
Police say Cinko was charged in late 2019 following an investigation into allegations that he had sexually assaulted an 8-year-old child over a period of about two months.
Further investigation found that Cinko was previously convicted on similar charges in October of 1993 and was thus required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
