A surprising twist in a Centre County murder case as the suspect will be getting out of jail after a judge granted her bail request on Friday.
Brittany Guisewhite, 28, is accused of stabbing Robert Farwell to death last April in her Penns Valley home.
Despite strong objection from the Centre County District Attorney’s office, a judge agreed to release Guisewhite from prison.
Prosecutors say Guisewhite has a serious drug history and allege that she killed Farwell while she was high on methamphetamine.
Guisewhite will now live with a relative, whose husband is a state police corporal.
State police investigated the case and filed the original third-degree murder charge against Guisewhite.
Her attorney says it could be a year or more before the case goes to trial.
