Hundreds of workers at one of Cameron County’s largest employers say they’ve been told they’ll soon be losing their jobs.
American Axle and Manufacturing will be reportedly closing in the next 12 to 18 months.
The Cameron County Chamber of Commerce says they’ve verified the news through workers who attended a meeting this morning.
During the meeting, employees say they were informed that the work at the plant would be gone, but weren’t given any other information.
American Axle and Manufacturing recently purchased the former GKN building.
