Cameron County Government Vaccine Incentive

Now talk about an incentive to get vaccinated, Cameron County Insurers are paying county employees who have gotten their COVID vaccine and booster.

So while the county is not mandating it, employees that have gotten the first dose or second doses are getting $200 and ones that have gotten the booster are getting $100.

Commissioners decided to use some of the American Rescue Plan money the county received as a thank you

“We are all about the health, welfare and the well-being of our employees. And also we pay a good chunk of their health insurance and research does show that if you are vaxed and boosted your chances of being hospitalized or
dying or much less”

There are no hospitals in Cameron County. The nearest hospitals are in St Mary’s and Coudersport.
